However, anyone wanting to visit the “most beautiful place in Austria“, around Lake Formarin and Lake Spuller, in order to start their walk along the Lechweg trail for example, should ask their landlord for a Lech Card. This includes not only the journey, but also the road toll. The Lech Card is aimed primarily at walkers and families on holiday. It is therefore free for children under 14.

Hiking at the Arlberg: Lechweg, Grüner Ring and Tannberg

Hiking friends of all ages will find a broad variety of round tours and themed paths, mountain pasture and summit tours, and ridgeways with divine panoramic views. The mountain railways and hiking buses will quickly bring you to the starting points of your very own mountain adventure before getting you back to your Hotel Edelweiss in Lech without a hitch after your hiking tour. Let us introduce you to three particularly rewarding hiking paths, two of which can be experienced in stages. Get an overview with the hiking maps at our hotel and the Lech-Zürs interactive hiking map.

Lechweg: right outside your bed & breakfast Hotel Edelweiss

The 124 km Lechweg leading from the source of the Lech to the Lechfall weir goes directly past Hotel Edelweiss. You can hike on two stages from/to Lech. Stage number one leads from the source of the river Lech near Formarinsee over 14 easy kilometres to Lech. Stage number two leads from Lech to Warth. The hike, which is slightly longer than 9 km, can be mastered without putting a noticeable amount of strain on your physique and technique. Return journey by free hiking bus. Both stages cross one of Europe’s last remaining wild river landscapes!

Grüner Ring: three legendary hiking days at the Arlberg

Three daily stages take you away into the fabulous mountains around Lech. The paths lead across crests, to mythical waterfalls, dark valley plains and crystal-clear mountain lakes. Find out all about the Bützin in Monzabonsee, where the night people ramble and whether there really is treasure hidden deep inside Taurin’s cave during your hike on the Grüner Ring. The level of difficulty varies from stage to stage. If in doubt, choose stage one, the easiest of them all. We advise families with children to try the Grüner Rätsel Ring from Lech to Rud-Alpe. Young riddlers can solve exciting puzzles over a distance of 600 m. Tip: Obtain the book of riddles at the tourist office.

Themed hike on the Tannberg: 57 interesting stations

Who are the Walser and where did they come from? How and when did they settle in Warth, Schröcken and Lech? Find out interesting facts about the joint history of your holiday region and the Swiss Canton of Valais on the scenic 12.6 km themed hiking trail. The hike is perfectly suitable for all ages and has something for everyone in store with culture, sports and nature as the key focuses. Start at the church of Schröcken and unhurriedly hike to Wrath. Lakes, the Alps and monuments will make the four hours fly by.
